Patapaa Shares Story Of How His Family Lost Hope In His Music Career

Ghanaian musician Justice Amoah, better known as Patapaa, has revealed that he pilfered his mum’s coins in order for him to go to the studios.

Sharing his life story with Zionfelix on the Celebrity Ride show, Patapaa disclosed that he was a bartender at his mother’s pub at Agona Swedru in the Central Region, therefore making him steal some of the coins made at the pub in order to outshine in his career.

He also added that there was no one to assist him in his music career considering the background he was coming from at Swedru hence providing him with no option than to pick profit made out from the mum’s drinking business.

The ‘One Corner’ singer, however, explained that he wasn’t working aside assisting the mum in her pub so it was easy to be caught by the mum, adding that from the studios back to the pub, he had nowhere else to go.

According to him when the mum noticed that he was stealing from her she then released the need to be assisted in his music. He noted that ever since that day, his mum has been supporting him at all cost without giving up on him because she believed in his music dream.

Amused by his answer, Zionfelix further asked if the mum gave up in supporting the career, he said, ‘My mum knew my talent to be music because I was not doing any other job except music at that time so how can he have money to do his music, so it encouraged my mum to realise that the sonwas going to be great so she started helping me from time to time until God opened doors for me”

Patapaa also indicated that his talent was a gift from God because all his hit songs weren’t written by him or anyone but whenever he listened to rhythms, he flows out the lyrics.

Shatta Wale will sell 1 million CD of yet to be released album

Da Hammer of the last two has predicted that Shatta Wale will sell 1 million copies of his yet to be released album “Reign”.

Speaking on entertainment nation show,The Late Nite Celebrity Show the ace Music Producer revealed how Shatta is going hit the 1 Million CD sales of his new Album.

The ace music producer detailed the benefits of selling a million copies of Shatta’s album on the streets. He said, “He will be creating a lot of jobs, listen I’m going to use the SM fans. I’m going to make sure the SM fans benefit, they are the ones who will chop the commission

According to Hammer, Shatta has a huge following which people seem to underrate.
“Look Shatta will sell 1 million copies; People underestimate the ‘following’ that boy has, and you see all I’m hearing is people don’t buy CD’s any more ‘Really’? Trust me it’s still being sold. I didn’t know all this until I got on the streets, people like things being delivered to them in person,” he said.

Disclosing how Shatta will be able to achieve the target he said “The boys already created SM Whatsapp groups, they have about 20 WhatsApp groups already named ‘REIGN ALBUM SALES’ and these are SM boys who are volunteering to be part of this,” he disclosed.

All this according to Hammer is a good thing for what the ‘Gringo’ hitmaker represents, someone who came to redirect the trend in the music industry.
You know I disrupted the market, before Shatta. The template was, you release a song, then a video, then you enjoy airplay and some sales for like one and a half months before you release your next song.”

“Shatta releases about 3 songs in a week and each song was a hit, he changed what we were used to and he is not getting credit for that. We need to give the credit due him.”

Stonebowy Reveals Why He And Shatta Wale Can Never Become  Friends.

Two prominent household names in Ghana when it comes to dancehall music are Shatta Wale and Stonebowy

Both artistes have risen and raised the flag of Ghana high in their genre of music for years now. That notwithstanding, both artistes are known to be enthusiastic rivals, something some industry players believe is good for showbiz.

Meanwhile, some fans of both artistes have called on them to make peace and bring out a collaboration.

Many Ghanaians describe Stonebowy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla as the calm type who would often choose to ignore controversies.

His nemesis, Shatta Wale, Born Charles Nii Armah, on the other hand has been described by many as the opposite of Stonebowy.

Shatta, according to many is the controversial type and a ‘bully’ who wouldn’t spare anyone who dares to step on his toes.

Stonebowy however believes that their character sets them apart. As a result, he and the ‘Ayoo’ hitmaker can never be friends.

Speaking to Entertainment nation, Stonebwoy explained that although he has no grudge against Shatta wale he prefers to stick to himself rather than mingle with someone who badmouths him.

He maintained that, he and Shatta cannot be friends because they both have opposite mindsets and characters.

The ‘Bawasaba’ hitmaker was however, quick to add that he has nothing against Shatta Wale although they can’t be friends.

“If we are to collaborate and make music that’s fine but for us to be friends is not possible.  I don’t go around talking anyhow so I can’t mingle with people who behave as such.”

Shatta Wale reacts to Menzgold, BoG brouhaha

Shatta Wale has added his voice to the ongoing brouhaha between his boss, Nana Appiah Mensah’s Menzgold company and the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

The singer said he cannot fathom why BoG will condemn a company which is promoting the entertainment industry.

In a Snapchat video, he said: “Someone will say God help me, God help me. God has brought somebody too to help you and you’re there and you are doing like this thing. Then we still will be at track zero. Ei ma guy, Menzgold, I like it

BoG has recently warned the Ghanaian public to desist from making deposits at the gold-trading company, insisting they were in a breach of the financial laws of the state.

But CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah has, through a social media response, rubbished the claims, saying the Central Bank is wrong in its assertion and position on his outfits business.

Shatta Wale Finally Reveals Why He No Collaborated With Stonebwoy and Samini yet

Shatta Wale is currently on a media promoting his third studio album ‘The Reign’.

The seventeen track album which will debut soon features vocals from YBNL’s Olamide.

Speaking to Entertainment nation on reasons why he has not collaborated with label-mate Stonebwoy and his long time rival Samini, Shatta quipped;

“When will Amakye Dede feature Lumba on a song? The industry we have, we don’t really know much about showbiz but some artists feel they know better than every other act.

“Some time ago, I had a meeting with Samini and I told him about the strategies that comes with this and he didn’t agree. Right now I have the blueprint. I have seen the good side of the music and the bad side so if I say I am going to do a song with Stonebwoy, its going to be a different thing all together.

“Recently, I called Iwan and he didn’t pick up. People don’t know what comes with this music thing. So, Stonebwoy, somebody should advice him that I came out before he came out so he should let us do a song. We shouldn’t be like Amakye Dede and Lumba who have not done a collaboration yet.”

Shatta Wale jabs Yaa Pono over Again

Controversial dancehall artiste Shatta Wale says fellow musician and rival Yaa Pono is not a serious business person and he will have to pay him for a collaboration because he disrespected him.

In an interview on Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show hosted by DJ Advicer,he stated that,

“I will collaborate with Yaa Pono if he only he can pay me, because this is a business.

I want him to learn something, If you are an artiste and you want to beef you should know how to feed people, if you want to beef with Shatta you have to be serious because look at me, I’m very serious.”

According to Shatta, even though Pono is a good artiste, he is oblivious of what he is doing and so he is one of the artistes Ghana should not look up to because he does not not have a vision like he Shatta does.

“He needs to know much about business. He doesn’t know what he is doing. Yaa Pono is a good artiste.

He has disrespected me, so he will pay if he wants to collaborate with me

Some of these boys are not people that Ghana should look up to because they don’t have that vision that I have,” he said.

“Most of these Ghana artiste should know that if they try to fight me, they will all fall. People should come so we learn .Yaa Pono, your hits have taken so long, people keep asking when your next hit is coming , your songs don’t go anywhere, don’t feel shy, come and lets write a hit for you , you just have to pay somethimg small,” he ridiculed

Shatta Wale Details Why Kwesi Arthur is Making Hits Now

Shatta Wale in a latest interview has commended Ground UP act Kwesi Arthur on his pen game and vocal abilities.

The ‘Gringo’ hitmaker talking about why he created certain songs revealed he aimed for not just trends but what the masses was vibing to at the time he was making his record.

Shatta then pointed to the success of BET Awards nominee Kwesi Arthur as an example of an artist who understood trends and creating music people want to vibe to.

“This thing is business and so no one should take it personal. If you take it personal, you are going to go down. There’s Kwesi Arthur coming. If you are a rapper and you are not doing it like Kwesi Arthur then you will fade soon. I like him a lot just like Future, if you don’t do it like Kwesi Arthur and the rest do it you are going to start complaining like Snoop Dogg.

“They claim rappers are now singing and mumbling but if you cannot mumble then why don’t you stop. Music is about trends and you have to adjust to trends to stay trendy.

Shatta Wale is currently on a media run to detail what went into creating ‘The Reign’ album which is scheduled to premiere on October 13 at the Fantasy Dome in Trade Fair.

Why I Always Visit Terry Bomchakas Grave- Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale’s respect and fondness of the late Terry Bonchaka seems not have ebbed away.

The ‘Gringo’ hit maker has told Jessica Opare Saforo on Citi FM that he usually goes to the late dancehall musician’s grave to pay respect to him.

According to him even though Terry did not last in the music industry he really paid his dues.

He added that given the chance to bring any dead artiste back to life, he would not hesitate to choose Terry.

“Terrry bonchaka is one person I would love to bring back if I had the chance. I loved his style. From time to time, myself and boys visit his grave. We want Ghanaians to remember his legacy. He is on the #ReignALBUM,” he said.

Terry Bonchaka died on 29th October, 2013 in a car accident while returning from a show at the University of Ghana.

All my controversies are just for cash - SHATTA WALE

He is arguably the most controversial entertainment personality in the Ghanaian showbiz today.

Shatta Wale and controversy are most often not far from each other.

From descending heavily on his ‘enemies’ in Facebook live videos to dissing them in Tweets or even showing his manhood in public, the ‘Dancehall King’ is always in the bad books of many.

But the man, who most often makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons, says all the controversies are simply geared towards making money.

According to him, he is soft inside and the crazy side some people see and hate are all part of the show business.

Speaking in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on Showbiz A-Z on Saturday, the 2014 Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’ winner revealed the things he says or does are only part of his work.

Any time I come on the radio or any time I’m live on Facebook doing something [or] talking about a particular topic, I say it in a way or manner that people will get the ‘Shatta spirit’, that is what people know about me… the reason why I say ‘Shatta spirit’ is that is how I get serious with my work,” the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker explained.

Shatta Wale likened his approach to showbiz to digging gold, saying, “when you come there, [and I am in] my wellington boot and working gear and the way you see mud on me… I don’t think you’ll say I am dirty…this is an industry whereby when I speak my mind, they say I don’t respect, they say I’m bush, they say I am dirty…what I’m doing is fetching me some good cash.”

Asked about his incessant attacks on the media, Shatta Wale was quick to respond that “I like acting” and that, his attacks on the media are just for fun and not personal.

“…All what I’m doing on radio, on TV, and everywhere, it’s my work. It won’t stop if they want it to stop…” he stressed.

Shatta Wale is set to release his third studio album, ‘Reign’.

The 17-track album will be released on October 13. The only featured act, according to him, is Nigeria artiste, Olamide.

Reign is an album that I feel will let people know my two different words. It shows the other side[s] of me,” he explained.

The competition between the two have often descended into rather depressing depths.

If we are to collaborate and make music that's fine but for us to be friends is not possible, I don't go around talking anyhow so I can't mingle with people who behave as such" Stonebwoy told SVTV Africa in a video call interview

Ebony’s Death Has ‘Badly’ Affected My Career – Danny Beatz

Record producer and singer Danny Beatz has disclosed how the death of Ebony Reigns almost shattered his dreams.

In an exclusive interview listened by ghface.com on Radio Central, Amansan Krakye asked if Ebony’s death affected him or the promotion of his previous single “Mede Kuku” in anyway.

He said;

Yes its really affected me because she passed away two weeks after release. We released the song on 24th January and the unfortunate incident happened on 9th February. It affected not the song alone but myself because Ebony was one artiste that was closed to my heart. When you come and see us its like a little sister and brother affair, if you interfere you will become a 3rd person. It really worried me because I didn’t know what to do next and it affected the promotion because the happiness we wanted to use to push the turned into sadness”.

Danny Beatz was official producer for late Ebony Reigns. He produced “Hustle” which featured her label Brella and also mastered most of her songs. Before Ebony’s sudden demise her last collaboration was “Mede Kuku”, a featuring she did for Danny Beatz.

Danny Yei” is the latest single of Danny Beatz. Song produced by himself with a classic video directed by Snares Films and Big Booh which is available on YouTube.
