Why I Always Visit Terry Bomchakas Grave- Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale’s respect and fondness of the late Terry Bonchaka seems not have ebbed away.

The ‘Gringo’ hit maker has told Jessica Opare Saforo on Citi FM that he usually goes to the late dancehall musician’s grave to pay respect to him.

According to him even though Terry did not last in the music industry he really paid his dues.

He added that given the chance to bring any dead artiste back to life, he would not hesitate to choose Terry.

“Terrry bonchaka is one person I would love to bring back if I had the chance. I loved his style. From time to time, myself and boys visit his grave. We want Ghanaians to remember his legacy. He is on the #ReignALBUM,” he said.

Terry Bonchaka died on 29th October, 2013 in a car accident while returning from a show at the University of Ghana.

He usually spotted a costume that had a pair of his trousers cut short, with a comb in his hair and a walking stick to match. He would always lift one leg in his palm anytime he performed.

His uniqueness was unparalleled as he released creative musical pieces within the short time he lived.

Shatta Wale whose ‘Reign’ album is in the offing also disclosed that despite people’s ill perception about him, he always tries to instill the value of respect among his friends and the Shatta Movement.

Recently, he released the ‘Gringo’ video, which has been tipped as the most expensive music video that has been produced by a Ghanaian musician.

Signed to the Zyofon Music record label, he has released ‘Amount’ which is gaining airplay in the music space.
