Ghanaian dancehall star, Stonebwoy, has been named the Favourite African Star at the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Stonebwoy won the award after beating competition from three other African stars, Nigeria’s Adesua Etomi-Wellington and IK Osakioduwa, and Kenya’s Sauti Sol.
By his win, the Top Skanka hitmaker becomes the first ever African first African Dancehall Artist to win both a BET and Nickelodeon award.
Stonebwoy won BET's International Act (Africa) award in 2015.
The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (also known as the KCAs or Kids' Choice) is an annual American children's awards ceremony show that is produced by Nickelodeon.
The show honours the year's biggest television, movie, and music acts as voted by viewers worldwide of Nickelodeon networks.
Held on March 23, 2019, at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California, this year's edition was the 32nd overall.
The awards show was hosted by American DJ, songwriter, record producer, media personality, and record executive DJ Khaled.
